I have to go to log out (top right), then log back in to access fight club. |

Hi Guys, this annoying behavior was initially attributed to cookies possibly expiring but I'm having doubts.. Any IT gurus out there know why this happens occasionally? A fix I have found that works for me is not to log out and then back in. Simply click on "Last Week" on the bottom line. The fact that this work-around works without re-entering a username and password indicates that a cookie is present and working even if not exactly how we want it to. If a post has been made in fight club then it will show up. Then just click on it and it will open in fight club. If no posts have been made within fight club then the fight club heading will not appear anyway just as any of the other topics without new posts will not either. I'm pretty flat out with my real job so I'll get on to it as time permits. I appreciate your patience with this matter. Cheers, Ken. |

Hey Ken, Doing a bit of poking around it looks as though Discus Pro isn't updated all that regularly and tech support for it is a bit-thin (unless you want to pay for it). I know it's a big job, but I'd seriously consider moving to a more popular platform like phpBB - it is updated on a more regular basis and support is more readily available (because so many more people use it problems are found and solved quickly, compare Google search results for "discus pro" vs phpBB for example). The UK jumpers use it for their site, and having used it myself quite a bit too I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. (it'd be nice to be able to use some of the features it has like tracking latest posts via RSS, etc) Since there's no converter to phpBB 3.0.0 you'd have to download and install phpBB 2.0.23, then use the conversion script. After that you could upgrade to phpBB 3.0.0. If you're keen to give this a try and you want a hand with this let me know. Jase |
