Hey all, Maybe this has been discussed before but I had a couple of questions about line release toggles. I would ask some of you personally but maybe some others can learn so thought i would post here. In terms of line release toggles (for slider up line overs)....What is on the market right now and are most of you all using them these days? because I think I ought to get some. Jesse, I remember in europe last year you had some that unfortunately kept releasing on opening? Did you work out what was going on? what brand were they? Or are people just going with hook knife option? Pete |

Hey mate, The ones I had last year were the original BR/Apex version which were recalled for being defective shortly after both of mine blew. They have since modified the design and apparently fixed the problem. I have a set of the newer version but as yet have been unwilling to use them. Being someone who does not use line-mod slider-down, I really like the idea too, but I found it slightly unnerving having them release for no apparent reason. Jesse |

I use the BR design toggles on my A rig, and don't have any for my other rig (I just use line mod)... Up until I got the BR cutaway toggles, I was using line mod on my A rig as well..... even though the chance of getting a lineover whilst PROPERLY using the tailgate is next to zero, I still prefer to use line mod with non-cutaway toggles..... I ALWAYS do a line check afterany mods I do to the brake settings etc.. I know Spicer did some cutaways with the BR ones when at perrine a few years ago, so his input could be of use... even though he's almost married and now offically retired plummy |

hey. grego here on cat's account i have apex WLO toggles on both my rigs and havent had any problems except that the releasable velcro part has torn open partially on a couple of occasions. i'm not 100% sure why this has happened as i always check its mated preperly and the pins are in the correct position. it is possible that it has somehow caught something on extraction. i've found the stub near the plastic ring may come out of its keeper without too much force, yet it's still a tight fit. |
